The day after diagnosis

On Thursday, Ben's mom flew out to be with us which we really appreciated. As many of you know we were in the process of buying a house in Spokane and we were supposed to sign for it on Thursday and close on Friday. Because of the news we got an extension, but we still had to go in and sign papers which was extremely difficult. We also got a call from our doctor that day that he had now talked to more doctor's and none of them came to a consensus and none of them would even do a biopsy. Our doctor suggested that for the best treatment we would need to go to a regional hospital. We chose MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston because it is ranked the number one cancer center in the country. Also Ben had had a cousin who had been treated there for a brain tumor and another cousin who lived in Houston and could give us a place to stay if we went down there. Our doctor contacted MD Anderson and got us an appointment for Tuesday with Dr. Lavine.
