The ER
On Saturday we decided we would go to the ER at MD Anderson and see if we could get seen earlier than Ben's Tuesday appointment. At first the ER doctor didn't really want to do anything for us and said that he would just discharge us and have us wait until Tuesday for our appointment, but then he decided that they would do a CT scan and blood work. If that came back normal or not needing any emergent care than he would discharge us that night. We were kinda looking forward to getting discharged so we could go back to the hotel and take Raider swimming which is one of his favorite things to do. Dr. St. Clair a neurosurgeon came and finally looked at Ben. He took the MRI that we had brought with us and looked at it. He found what looked like two tumors on the left side which was new information to Ben and I we had originally been told there was only one. This made us even more scared. Around 10pm the ER doc came back and told us that Dr. St. Clair had looked at Ben's CT scan and noticed some blood near the second tumor area so they were going to admit him and a doctor would come and see him in the morning. This was very discouraging and Ben and I were very upset. I ended up staying in the room with Ben that night and Raider stayed in the hotel room with Marla and Terry. This was the first night that I had spent away from Raider, which was difficult but I was glad that I got to stay with Ben.
