No time for rest
So yesterday was a crazy day. It started out fine until I went to change Raider's diaper in the morning. What I saw was not normal so I called the on call doc who told me to take him over to Children's Hospital to get checked out. Turns out he just had an infection which actually is uncommon in circumsized boys, but of course he would end up with it because I am always ont the wrong side of the statistic. He is now on antibiotics and doing much better. We got out of the ER just in time to make it to the second service at church. I was dressed for church because I had gotten ready before Raider woke up but Raider was just in sweats covered in animal cookies that he had eaten at the hospital. Usually I dress him up all cute for church so I felt bad bringing him to church like that but really in the end it doesn't matter. After church I met up with some friends and their son for lunch. It was really great to see them and see their extremely cute little boy. There son is i think around 10 weeks older than Raider and it is crazy to see how different they are developmentally. After all of this I headed home and relaxed until Cafe. Cafe is a time for the high school youth to come and hang out and drink coffee at the church. It is quite a lot of fun. This week some of the boys who jam together decided they needed to come up with a new band name and I think they are going to go with one I suggested. We will just have to wait and see. It seems like sometimes these busy days are great because they keep me preoccupied and other times they make it worse. I love being around people, but as soon as I head home I realize how alone I am. Even though I feel lonely a lot lately another thing I have realized is that I have a ton of friends that I didn't even realize I had before. I really do have lots of friends. They may not live down the street or even in the same town but I have lots of people who care about me and who I can count on to be there for me when I need them. I am excited because my friend Ali is coming on Wednesday to stay for a couple days and my friend Rebecca is coming on Sunday to stay for a week. I am so excited to see some of my closest friends and have lots of time with them. Also this weekend I am headed out to Lutherhaven for a confirmation retreat and next weekend I will be heading to Montana for a high school ski trip. I think all my weekends are booked until March. I definately am keeping busy but I know that this is not going to bring me any peace or comfort. I pray that in the midst of this busyness I will find time to just be in the presence of God and know that I am truely loved.
