A Better Day for all

Today was a much better day. Last night my mom arrived safely and Marla stayed with Ben at the hospital. I was so tired last night and barely even remember getting up with Raider. Today my mom and I headed over to the hospital in the morning and we each got to spend some time with Ben which was really nice. Marla and Terry arrived later and spent most of the day with Ben while my mom and I ran some errands that I had been putting off. This morning Dr. Groves came to speak with us and let us know that the nurses had reported that Ben was now responding to stimulus, meaning that if you were to pinch him he would move. This is good news because it means that the swelling in the brain is going down meaning that the medicines are doing something. We aren't quite sure how much they are doing and won't really know if they are completely working for another couple days. The other thing that Dr Groves said was that since Ben is responding now they would like to take him off of the sedatives. They will do this tomorrow morning as early as 5am but maybe not until later like 8am. The doctor said it will take about a half hour for them to wear off and see if Ben becomes alert again. He said depending on how responsive Ben is they might even be able to take out the breathing tube. This is what we are hoping for. This news was so great to hear after the last two days. One of the errands my mom and I did was finally get the PO Box set up. I didn't have two forms of ID for Ben so as of right now it is only my name on the box so if you send something to Ben just address it to me. I am sorry it has taken me so long to get this but if you would like to send us something you now can. Here is our address

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. It was so nice to read all of the comments left yesterday. We feel your love every time we read the comments. Please pray for Ben tomorrow that he will do fine when they take him off of the sedative and that they will be able to take out the breathing tube.

All of you are consistently on my mind and heart. I was so saddened by hearing about the inflammation and the cyst that I let Romans 8:26-39 be my prayer because I had no more words left. The funny part is that I'm using a new bible and it kinda flops open to that passage automatically now :) The other thing that's been healing for my soul has been some praise songs from Hillsong United on YouTube. Perhaps they might lift your spirits too.

As always, continued grace and love and an overwhelming sense of God's presence and peace.

My heart aches each time I think of you all. Even though we haven't seen each other for some time, I realize the depth of the love we have for you. We are praying fervently for healing, rest, comfort, and miracles. We are weeping with you and for you. We are thinking of you constantly.
