No More Sedatives
Ben was taken off of the sedative this morning around 8:15am. Pretty soon after he began responding to stimulus and voices. When you asked him to squeeze your hand he did and he moved his arms and head. He still has not opened his eyes and he still can not follow commands so it does not look like they will be taking out the breathing tube just yet. In order for them to be able to take it out he has to be able to pass a few tests and follow commands. The nurse practitioner for Dr. Groves came and checked on him this morning and said that he was definately aware and responding but she wasn't quite sure yet how much farther he will progress. She said it was too early to tell but that there is the possibility that this could be the baseline for him. We will just have to wait and see how he progresses. She said we would know more in the next couple of days. It seems like everything that we want to have answers for we won't know for a couple days. It has been great to see Ben respond and squeeze our hands. And although he is still hooked up to a breathing machine he is mostly breathing on his own. Please continue to keep Ben in your prayers and pray for strength and courage for all of us.

We will continue to pray for Benjamin. Please give our love to Terry and Marla, also. Love, Roger and Marcia
Lord, I sit here amazed at what you are doing for this family already. I am so thankful to you. Lord, I lift up Ben to you. I pray for Kirstin, give her strength and peace. Hold this family in your loving arms. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Hold my hand; I won't let go.
It is there for you to hold.
In my heart I keep for you,
love that's lasting, strong, and true.
I'll hold tight and won't let go.
In my love you'll stretch and grow.
Nothing you could ever do,
will end my lasting love for you.

I love you always-Ben, Kirstin, and Raider
I have been reading Ben's updates all along this time. The Liesch's have been in my prayers the whole time. My father just had his brain tumor removed on Tuesday and has to continue to fight to beat the other tumors in his chest. Prayer is my best answer during these difficult times. I will continue to pray for both your family and mine! Please say hello to Marla and Terry and let Marla know I miss my Valpo mom!

Kirsten, Perry and I know Marla and Terry thru VU basketball and met Ben as a result of that connection. We have followed the blog and also have asked friends to pray for all of you. Members of my church also are saying prayers for you. The Lord's prayer has been a part of my nightly talk with our Lord, now it means even more to me. Please share with Marla and Terry our love.
