Hospice
Today we got to go home. The medical flight team arrived at MD Anderson around 9am this morning. We rode to the airport in an ambulance got on the small jet (kinda like a leer jet) and two hours later arrived in Valpo where another ambulance was waiting to take us the the VNA Hospice. People have not stopped coming by since we got here. We were brought so much food from so many loving people and are so grateful. The hospice is such a nice place and they are allowing Raider and I to stay in the room with Ben. We are going to be a family again. I set up Raider's playpen in the room and made ourselves at home. It is quite nice because the family lounge is right next to Ben's room so we kinda have moved in. There are only 20 beds in the facility and many of them are not filled so it is a nice quiet place. Ben did great on the flight here and continues to breath on his own. They gave him some sedative while we were flying so most of the day he has been resting which is probably good anyway. I am so happy we are in Indiana. Both of us have so much family that is here to support us. Also it just feels good to be out of a hospital. Thank you so much for all your support and love and we just continue to ask you to keep us in your prayers.

I'm so glad you guys are in Valpo and surrounded by love and support. I wish we could be there, too! Glad to hear you are comfortable in your new digs. Stay strong and positive. We love and miss you all.
I am so happy you made it safely. I hope I get to see you soon. I am so happy Ben got to see his son again. Missing and loving always. Praying for strength to face whatever comes your way.
Hi Kirsten,
Patty S. gave me your blogspot address today. We'd been praying for Ben and you, but I didn't realize how serious it is. Ryan and I are sitting here stunned. We are glad that you are in Indiana with all your family. Ryan's recalling moments from the trip to S. Dakota "and how much fun we had." He just told me about the machine that you put people in and you get panda bears, and that he's sure that Jesus drives a Corvette! You are in our prayers and in our thoughts. Please give Ben our love, and hug little Raider for us. We are also praying for Ben's parents.
Love, Cyndy and Ryan
Hi Kirstin. We have been following and praying for God's protection for all of you as Ben is being surrounded by loving prayers and hands. There has not been a time when your family hasn't been in our minds and on our thoughts and prayers. We are here for you to help when you call. Mary Ann & Andrew
I'm moving to chicago in the next few weeks and I'll stop by for a visit, I miss you all and I will continue to pray for your family.
Kristin, Thank you for keeping this blog. What a great outlet for your emotions! I've read them all and I can tell from here that you don't even "smell like smoke"!! Cyndy has given your blog address to the entire bible study email list so be prepared to be inundated by God's goodness. My prayers go out to you and your family. And I pray for your vision. To see God in all the little things; Raider's smile, your laughter, a hug, a friend's visit. I am thankful for the beautiful folks at Hospice and for their ministry. I will keep up with your blogs and I will continue to pray for your comfort and God's supernatural strength.
Kirsten,
I think about you, Ben and Raider everyday. ((hugs)) to you all.
We are so thankful that you had a safe trip and were able to go to Valpo. You, Ben, and Raider are in our thoughts and prayers constantly. We miss you all!
Love, Karen
P.S. Brian still says it is a Mustang.
Hi Kirsten,
My name is Jennifer Payen(Abbott) and I went to school with Ben. One of our mutual friends, Rachel Wren, told me about Ben's condition.
I am overwhelmed and saddened that you and your family is going through this. Hold tight and know that a lot of love is coming your way!!
*Love and hugs*
Jen
