College Friends and a Pirate Ship

If yesterday was about old high school friends, then today was all about old college friends. Many of Ben's good friends from college came by today to see him. Ben has had some really amazing friends throughout his life. Yesterday I got to hear those high school stories and today I got to hear college stories. It is crazy how even though I met Ben at college I really didn't know him for most of the time I was at college and so it was fun to hear about the college Ben before me. Ben and my good friends Ryan and Kristin were here today too and they brought along their little boy Caleb who is 5 months old. It was so much fun to see Raider and him interact. They are so cute together. The rest of the day I spent turning a box into a pirate ship for Raider. I really was desiring to do something creative and crafty and we got this box that I just had to do something with. I decided to turn it into a pirate ship for an amazing Halloween photo op. As soon as I get Raider into his pirate costume I will try to post a picture of him sitting in the homemade pirate ship. My sister has now arrived. I haven't seen her yet though cause she is at my grandma's, but I will get to see her and the kids tomorrow. Also my best friend Rebecca is coming to visit tomorrow. I will finally be surrounded by the two people who give me the greatest support in life. On another note I tried drinking and Ensure tonight to help since I haven't really been able to eat all that well and am loosing quite a bit of weight. It was quite disgusting but I got half of it down. I think I will try to figure out some other way to get some nutrition.

Hi Kirst,
It is fun to get to know Ben through his friends stories. I too hope that they will share these stories of Raider's father as he gets older.
I'm glad Hilary and the kids got there safely. I know how important it is for Hilary to be with you and Ben, and to have the kids, especially Soria, (sp...) have some time with Ben. Enjoy, and, as usual, pass on my love to all.

Hi Kirstin, I'm so glad Hilary, Soraya and the babies arrived safe. Tell her Hi for us, we haven't seen them in awhile, and I really miss them and you, Ben and Raider too. It's so nice to hear that Ben is surrounded by good friends and family. We still pray for you guys on a daily basis, my sunday school class and my Wednesday night bible study group always ask about how Ben is doing, so I'm so glad for your blogspot. Tell Ben we love him and he is in our prayers everyday. Love and miss you guys.
P.S. Luke says, Green Bay won again today, Go Packers
Love Diana, Jerry, Jessi and Luke

Hi Kirstin,
I worked with your cousin Amanda in MI this past year and she recently told me what was going on (and I just got this link to your blog to read the whole story). I am so sorry for what you and your family are going through. Although we have never met, I am in tears as I read your blog and feel for you. I am praying for you and your family, and for Ben, that God gives you the strength and comfort that you need to get through this time.

Hi, I found your blog through a story that ran in the newspaper about the benefit. I just wanted to say thank you for keeping this blog. I think your attitude is amazing. My mom was diagnosed with GBM one year ago this week and has had two operations, radiation, and chemo. The second operation was after a recurrence in August. We are waiting to see what will happen now. She also lives in Valpo so it is good to know there is a wonderful hospice facility nearby. My thoughts are with you and your family.
