Ben still knows how to shop

So yesterday we tried to set up a PO Box but they needed two forms of ID which I did not have on me at the time. The crazy thing is that they won't accept a social security card or birth certificate but they will accept an auto insurance card. How ridiculous. Anyway, I should have a second form of ID tomorrow so I will try to get back to the post office to set up the box on Monday. We met with Dr. Chang, the radiation oncologist, yesterday and things seem to be going well. He told us that Ben's hair should begin to fall out next week, but that he can't cut it until the end of treatment. If he were to cut it then his mask for radiation won't fit properly and his head might shift which would not be good. So I am assuming Ben will be starting to where baseball hats soon. Today at occupational therapy Ben had some more tasks to complete. He had to go to the hospital gift store buy some items and then deliver them to different people. He did fantastic with the tasks. The first task was getting to the gift shop. Ben confused the therapist because he went to a different gift shop then the main one. Ben didn't even realize there was a different gift shop then the one he knew about. After he bought some items he had to deliver some chips to Vivian at P8. P8 is the floor that Ben was on after his surgeries. He didn't know where exactly that was though so he asked a lady at the info desk. She wasn't very smart though cause she couldn't even tell Ben where it was. Ben's therapist ended up having to tell Ben cause the lady had no clue. I couldn't believe it, that is here job to help people figure out where they are going and P8 would be a basic floor to visit patients on. I think I know the hospital better than the info lady. Anyway we headed to P8 and when we got there without Raider all the nurses were bummed. They were excited to see us again but they really just wanted to see Raider. I guess our little boy already is making an impression on the ladies. After that we headed back to the rehab area. Ben was completely exhausted after walking all over the hospital. The therapist said that he walked for 35 minutes without resting and that he was doing great. He also said that Ben is really doing well and really doesn't need much supervision or help with daily activities. Well tomorrow my dad and Joel arrive with the car and we are very excited. We might see if we can catch an Astros game too. We are all ready for the weekend and a two day rest from trips to the hospital. We miss you all and can't wait to see you again.

Of course Ben knows how to shop! It must have been nice to visit the nurses even if they just wanted Raider. Welcome to parenthood. We are excited about the sale this weekend. I will send you some pictures and maybe you can post them on the blog. Keep up the good work Ben. You rock!
