We're All Tired

We are all so tired. It has been a week now since the first doctor's visit and I am completely worn out. I know everybody else is too. Even Raider. Last night he slept through the entire night for the first time. I guess this is a good way to help him learn to sleep instead of eat at night. Today Ben had his appointment with Dr. Lavine. We thought we were going to get some answers but instead we have more questions. Dr. Lavine said once again that they are unable to tell if there are two tumors or just one. Also he said that looking at the MRI's and CT scan he noticed some abnormalities with some blood vessels and he didn't know if Ben might have a condition called AVM instead of a brain tumor. If it is a brain tumor they plan to operate on Thursday and try to take out as much as they can. With brain tumors you are not able to remove the whole thing because you can not remove the tissue around the tumor in order to get at it. The doctor also said that he wasn't sure yet if the tumor began just in the brain or if it has come from some other area in the body. This is something they want to check for tomorrow. Tomorrow Ben will be going through many tests to find out if he has AVM or a tumor and to see if the tumor originated in the brain or not. If Ben does not have a tumor and instead has AVM, Dr. Lavine said that we would need to go see a doctor who specializes in the vascular system. He said that he knew of some great doctors in Seattle so we might be headed that way if need be. Please pray for Ben tomorrow as he will be having a long day full of tests. He will start the day in the morning with an ultrasound, then another MRI, and then a functional MRI and finish the day with a chest CT scan. All of the tests should bring us a few more answers. We are hoping for the best. Please also pray for safe travels for Ben's sister Jenna and my mom as they are both heading down here to be with Ben.

Thanks for the updates! I'm keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers. On a side note a Neuro AVM is what my dad had brain surgery for in November, Seattle definately has great surgeons...I'll be praying that things go well tomorrow!
